Catskills and the American Landscape
31 images Created 16 Dec 2013

This series of landscapes reflects my examination of abstract patterns. It is a dissection of shapes, an elimination of the horizon line, and a push into a more layered surface.
The photographs are a study of atmosphere and seasons in nature. Utilizing fog, rain and snow to build layers, the images examine how shapes change when looking through, and beyond the elements. The complete portfolio is comprised of 60 images from the Catskill Mountains, Poconos, with additional photographs of the Midwest, Southwest, and Hawaii.
