Remembrance

1996-1998
I embarked on the Remembrance series as a path to create a personal record that incorporated both fact and fiction.
The photographs were created from work that existed in family albums scrapbooks, and objects saved over the years. From Chinese fingernails, to a taxidermy raven, I saved these objects as talismans and keepsakes of places I’d been, events I experienced, and family. The work focused on my childhood, my parents, my home, travel, and the birth of my daughter. The images have previously been exhibited in a grid, pairing 2-6 images together with objects, and images referencing personal milestones.
